Howdy.

One of the local gaming stores near Minneapolis, The Source Comics and Games, seems to be expanding their indie game stock (or maybe I've just gotten better at recognizing titles...) Anyhow, I was just there this weekend, and noticed hardcopies of:

vs. Monsters (and supplement)

OctaNe

Lacuna

Nine Worlds

Monster Burner

Not bad for Falcon Heights... Here's their website: http://www.sourcecandg.com/

I have no idea what their marketing policies are, but it might be worth a shot for those of you who like to sell things in stores.

Burl "Santa Claus" Zorn bought a metric buttload of games at the Key20 booth this past GenCon Indy. Burl is what we refer to as "the Man" (tho' not The Man, which is bad).

Burl Zorn? Did he used to live in Lake Geneva, WI and work at the Game Guild? I think I know him. It would have been 8 or so years ago and I can certainly imagine him looking like a guy you would refer to as "Santa Claus" now.

Probably anyone named Burl would inevitably receive the epithet "Santa Claus"...

Anyhow, it's cool he's spreading the indie games around. Jared, do you know if he actually works at the store, or just does their buying?

OctaNe looked spiffy spiral bound, btw. If I didn't own the pdf, I'da picked it up...

We call him Santa because he gives toys (money) to good little boys and girls (game publishers -- us). Also because his name his Burl. I mean, crikey -- he bought a kajillion WDBC and Key20 Direct games in Indy.

I think he just does the buying for them. Really nice guy, that Burl.

And re: octaNe...thanx! I'm currently doing layout for the 100+ page bohweeemeth that is Against the Reich! Yowza.

Do me a favor and ask him if he's the same guy would you? I'm just curious. He doesn't owe me money or anything. ;)
