Note that on line 20 is the real crux of the matter where you could really turn this into a tragic Dogs story:

In my translation (JPS), it doesn't say "honor," it says "love". It's the saddest story in Torah and one that lends itself particularly well to an RPG.

Someone ought to Dogsify cool biblical stories. It'd just be a cut-and-paste job in a lot of cases...just add horses and hog-legs.
