[Dreamation 2005] Last minute details

Okay, as we enter the final week before Dreamation, there are a few last minute details we need to cover.

1) I've worked up a schedule for minding the booth. It's available here.. I've split the days into 2-hour shifts. Most people have two shifts, a few have only one. Because Sunday is going to be seriously impacted by what time people want to leave, I thought it best that we work out the schedule for Sunday in person at the con.

I anticipate that more than one person will actually be at the booth at any given time. I hope it becomes a kind of hang-out, actually. The reason I want at least one person "assigned" to the booth at any given time is to manage the cash box and keep record of sales.

2) I've also put together a list of games we'll have and how much they cost. It is here. I've taken this from your websites, so if you have convention special pricing or the like, please let me know. Also, I may have missed something (like Dregg's website--Where is it, man?)

3) Arrival information. I'll be sending out a private e-mail with my cell number a bit later. I'll be there between 7pm and 8pm on Thursday. I know that some of you expect to get there earlier. I suggest that when you arrive, head for convention registration. Tell them that you're an exhibitor and they'll give you your badge. If there's any trouble, speak with Becca Badurina, she'll take care of you. I'm actually least concerned about this, as the Double Exposure staff has always been extremely helpful and competent.

The Jared will not be there on Friday as the Jared has a five-hour drive down to NJ and won't even be leaving his house until 6-7pm.

The Jared will, in fact, be at the convention on Saturday and Sunday.

The Jared laughs at a booth being open until 1am.

The Jared is also displeased at running a game design seminar at 9am on a freakin' Sunday. I mean, come on now. Everyone will be at church.

Dude, Michael... four shifts for you? I know how comfortable it is to be able to say "I'll be handling it, so I know it will be in good hands"... but I think you should let some of us run things for some of those time-slots, or you're going to seriously burn yourself to a crisp.

Jared: Michael forgot Jared's travel plans. Michael will switch Jared's shift to some time on Saturday. About the late booth hours, Michael loves the sounds of Jared's laughter in the morning. It sounds like ... it sounds like victory.

Tony: You're right. Delegation ain't one of my strong points. We can work out some extras shifts if anyone wants them face-to-face at the con. This way, I can rest easy that everything is at least covered.

Ralph: Yup, I have Luke's copies of Uni, MLwM, Sorcerer and a few NPAs.

A question that came to mind later, vis-a-vis the cash-box and records of sales. This is communal?

Having never sold at a con, I'm a bit at loose ends. If everyone else is so experienced that they know at least one serviceable cash-box will be arriving, and everyone can use that... well, that'd be great. It would save me the bother (at least this week) of going out and trying to assemble such a kit myself.

Hi, Tony.

I've got it covered--cash box, book of receipts, change, etc. Just bring yourself, copies of Capes, and the stuff you need to run it. And a change of socks. It'll be fun.

If there's anything anyone needs, that I should know about beforehand, please let me know. :-) Any dietary restrictions? Please PM, email or call me. Also, are the details regarding the two-room suite/crash space all worked out? Party?

I just want to make sure you guys are all as covered as possible. Surprises happen, of course. I want to make sure there are few, though.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a few days! If there's any questions or problems, just let me know. Thursday, I should be reachable at the hotel. The number there is (732) 828-2000, and the Double Exposure staff hospitality suite is room 533.

I revised the Booth shifts and the Price List

Since Dregg appears to be AWOL, my wife has agreed to handle the party. It will be a "Meet the Designers" Party during the Saturday dinner break, about 6pm to 8pm.

Safe travel, everyone!

Unless someone has raided my stocks, I can bring two two-liter sodas for the party, without even heading to the store. I'll just toss them in the back, and use this as a reminder that other people might want to contribute to the pot-luck too.

I forgot to mention earlier, I'll be selling sets of Japanese dice for $2 a set. If you want, you can add them to the price list.

Price list looks good but unfortunately, Sang & I set it up so we could booth during the day and run games at night (after 8). Does anyone want to swap a time on Saturday or Sunday for our shift on Friday 11p - 1a?

The basics, we have covered. We're always more than happy to seed parties with drinks and munchies. :-)
