Mike Holmes made an excellent point early today in my off-topic thread about selling off some of my games. 'Site Discussion' is not for off-topic posts, and I made an error there.

I'm not going to delete any posts, but want to make it clear that the Forge is not for off-topic discussions of any kind, including announcements - private messages and e-mails are the way to go for this sort of thing. I've seen other RPG sites institute an 'off-topic' forum, and all the traffic gets sucked into there within a month.

I apologize for my error, and trust that everyone else will follow this guideline.

That said, should there be a "connection" forum here on the Forge? Where people can meet & arrange gaming (online or in person), and buy/sell games (indie or otherwise)?

My opinion is that The Forge should not be a place to sell games. The only reason I say this is because if I could sell games here I'd want to only be able to sell indie games, and drawing the line between indie games and mainstream becomes very shady at some point.

Looking for other players would not create such a problem. Most people here are not looking for DnD or Vampire groups.

But when it comes to selling those games...I think we'd probably stretch the rules too often.

I'll say again that I made an error in judgment, and do apologize.

That said, the topic is not up for discussion.
