Similar games?
Hi all,
I'm concepting an RPG setting in a fantasy world of half human half insect creatures who are in conflict. The characters will be mostly humanlike (imagine normal people with butterfly wings or a race of people who look just like ordinary people except that they are eight times as strong (ants)).
I expect replies of gentle words of encouragement and wonderful questions like "what is your game about?", or "how does it differ from any other game?" but I would prefer not to go that deep at the moment. The purpose of this post is to ask you veteran gamers if there is already a game that features a human/inscect like realm in conflict.
I would like to at least have a look at these games (if they exist) before taking the concept any further.
Thanks.

There is at least a game for half human/half animal characters called Ironclaw.

Hmmm, the only thing I can think of is the world outlined in Sex and Sorcery Ron's Azk'Arn setting.
Of course that's just A setting for his game Sorcerer, and not the only one.

Hello,
I suggest looking up the game Army Ants. It's a very good RPG of a specific type, and features the various insect species waging a war in your own back yard. They are essentially animorphic little cartoon guys with little trucks and tanks and so on.
Best,
Ron

Wizards of the Coast released a setting for Amazing Engine called Bughunters.
I wouldn't let existing products get in your way though.

Just to add to the list... Star Frontiers had the Vrusk, an insectsoid race, Skyrealms of Jorune has the Cleeth, and the Ramian look like something in between human and insect to me, and then there is Rifts. Besides Rifts I don't think the other two are in print any longer. They certainly don't have any kind of patent on insectsoids.
