New Software

I know you're busy, Clinton, so take your time with this one. But I'm assuming that the new software has features that we moderators should know about? Does anyone know of a link to info on this? Or have you seen any new features? Can anybody lay out the most important features for us?

There's no new major functions for moderators, besides merging threads. Oh! And subscribing to forums. If anyone posts anything in Anvilwerks now, I get a message.

You will want to keep an eye out of abuse of new features, though. We pride ourselves on a minimalist aesthetic here, and this software is a bit less minimalist than we're used to. (Believe me, I cut out everything I could.)

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

Hmm. Is this something we're not likely to use? Or am I not seeing the applicability of the function? Is it just in case two people start basically the same thread simultaneously?

Aha! Very cool. That's something that I'll definitely be using. Addresses a long standing gripe that folks have about this sort of forum.

Anything you're particularly worried about? Using all the new formatting is OK, right?

The new formatting is fine. I finally learned how to turn off smileys for the forum, so that's done, too. I have seen one image in someone's signature, which I asked them to remove. So, actually, I think everything's good right now.
