Game Chef 2005: Winner announced!

Hi all!

A few years ago the Game Chef challenge grew out of the Forge Boards. This year, it took a step into the larger world and the competition took place at the www.1km1kt.com news boards. 39 games (count them!) were submitted by a very diverse array of chefs. Here is the homepage of the competition http://game-chef.com/

And now the winner has been announced! http://www.1km1kt.net/forum/ftopic474.html

I won't blow the thunder... take a look! All of the games submitted are available for free download from 1km1kt and there are a wealth of reviews and commentary on each of them also available from the boards on that site. Definately worth a read, and several of the games are going on to full production, so you might see some of them at GenCon or soon after.

It is well worth the time to take a look, trust me. Lots of good ideas and excellent work in the games.

Warm regards,
Evan

It would be incredibly bad form for me to reply to a post just to bump it to the top of the forum.

So instead of doing that, I'd like to thank all the participants and judges! I'll be checking these out...

Game Chef was an excellent experience for me personally this year. Although my entry was not as complete as I wanted it and in fact did not even make the winner's circle, I still feel really good about the game. On the 1kt1km Forums there are threads for making changes and I will not bring those up here. I would encourage people though to take what they learn here at teh Forge and put it into practice with competitions like Game Chef. It certianly helps with ideas and designs.

Congratualtions to the Winner / Winners and everyone who participated.

Sean
