Hi,
A friend has asked me to promote his work here on the Forge. His name is Sven Flottmann. He has translated WuShu into German and is currently doing the same with Scarlet Wake. He is a global mod at GroFaFo like me, and host of a new portal for indie RPGs in German language called 8ternity.net. The site is still under construction, but will be made by people who know their trade.
8ternity.net is dedicated to supporting a diversity of indie RPGs. Sven himself is doing tons of work promoting Liquid, Germany’s free indie RPG dinosaur, which has been abandoned by its creator. BARBAREN! will be on 8ternity.net, too, once it’s available. Sven has, as I already mentioned, translated WuShu, put up a website with a free PDF download and a forum at GroFaFo which has drawn quite some attention. Since 8ternity.net and GroFaFo cooperate closely, any member of 8ternity.net can get it’s own channel on Germany’s by far largest (general) RPG board.
So, what is this deal about? Sven and a couple of freelancers from GroFaFo translate cool indie RPGs from English into German. Once they have finished Scarlet Wake, they will be looking for a new project, and a next one after that. They don’t do that for money, they do it for fun and love of the hobby. Consequently, all games they translate into German will be available as free PDF downloads only.
If you want money out of it, this is not your deal. If you want a print version of your game in German, this is not your deal. If you just want to boast that your game is now being translated into German, or if you just like the thought that people who don’t even speak English will be playing your game—then this might be something for you.
Interested? Post here or contact Sven directly at 8t88@grofafo.de.

Well, I have this RPG called Legends of Alyria, and I like the thought that people who don’t even speak English will be playing it....

hey Sven, i'd love to get in on some of that action too! i think Empire of Satanis would be a lot of fun in German. just to warn you, lots of Lovecraftian tongue twisters in my prose...
just go to: http://www.CultofCthulhu.net to read the free pdf, put some Das Ich in your cd player, and start corrupting reality.

My nice, short, free game Snowball has already been translated into French, and there's an adventure for it in Italian. I think it'd be cool if German were added to its languages.
http://www.twistedconfessions.com/snowball.php is where you can download the pdf for free.

Frank,
I'm always interested in getting the "intro" BTRC titles translated. CORPS is already available as a nutshell version, but EABAnywhere could readily be translated (and is already free in English), at:

Yes, I'd love a German translation. My playtester is German ad I'd love to spare the trouble of translating it himself.
