So, uh, there's an incomplete sentence on p78, two lines above And so it was...: "Finally, you must know what happens after"

...so, what should this text say?

Shreyas,

I don't actually have a copy of the final print edition, but maybe we can put it together between the two of us. The line, "Finally, you must know what happens after" is a section heading, parallel with certain earlier section headings, like this:

"First you must know when to use it," then later "And you must know who can use it," and then coming to "Finally, you must know what happens after."

The object of the preposition was intentionally elided as a stylistic choice. In my copy of the text, there are two short paragraphs between that section heading and the "And so it was..."

Is it the structure of the section heading that isn't parsing right for you, due to the elision? Or are the two paragraphs that make up the section actually missing from the print edition?

Rich

Aha, a section heading. That makes perect sense. The paragraphs it heads are present, the line is just not formatted as a heading.

I didn't parse it as one because it's so very distant (10 pages and several non-parallel headings, including the two "Some Advice For..." headings, which I would find more logically ordered after the section in question) from the headings of parallel form that you cite.

Thanks, Rich!

Ah, it's all clear now. I thought that might be what was going on. Actually, when I checked it out in my copy, that was the first I'd noticed just how many pages there are between the sections that use that structure. I have to admit, you had me worried for a moment there when I first read your post -- I am all too aware that even big errors can slip through in spite of multiple editing passes, so at first I was afraid that the time had come where I had missed a big one.

*whew*

Disaster averted... so far...

Now my only question about the text is why Suhail gets an Aspect that remains undescribed in Appendix 2 (Southern Ancestor Sword, p46).

Other than that, it looks awesome. Having finally gotten to read the thing through, I am thoroughly impressed and excited; your editing is immaculate, and the text is (now) clear and beautiful. I hope my group's game date will not fall through...

Hm, that Aspect *did* slip by me, it looks like, but if that's the worst of the lot, I'll take some comfort in it. I hope your scheduled game comes through!

Yeah, it's a formatting error.  Thanks for pointing that out!

In general, folks -- Please point out typos and formatting errors.

wrt complaint number two: I don't believe I describe the Southern Ancestor Sword in the text at all, having just checked the Blessing section and not found it.  This is purposeful.  You are supposed to make up your own aspects.

Question, not complaint! Thanks for answering it; that was basically what I expected. (It does stand out as the singular example of this.)
