It occurred to me to wonder what happens if the Dogs decide their work here is done... but still leave the Town in sin, according to the Faith.

Like, I've seen a few AP posts that imply that the Dogs used deception to work things out, and while that may not be specifically against the Faith-as-written, chances are some of the circumstances around the lies are.  At any rate, who decides when a Town is "done" and it's time to move on? If the Dogs decide that sin "x" is not that big a deal and want to leave things as they are, then I, as GM, have to go along with it, right? Let them leave, and maybe they come back on their way back to Dog's Temple, or get word later down the road, that the town imploded entirely?

Or is it kosher to have someone from the town grab them on the way out (or ride them down on the way to the next town) and try to pull them back in?

Maybe it's not really a concern, but it sure seems like it could come up.

Any pointers, anybody?

If there's anyone in the town who still wants something from the Dogs, they won't let the Dogs out of town without harrassing them, that's for sure. If there aren't, then the Dogs have set everyone to rights, I think.

If all the *tagonists are happy, then either you didn't make enough contradictory motivations among the townsfolk or the town's clean. That was the players' solution. If something about their solution bothers you, challenge it in the next town.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Although in reading today I realized that deception IS against the Faith-as-written.

So, basically what it comes down to is the Dogs resolving the issues to the point that the people of the town are no longer inclined to request further assistance of them, rather than actually meeting any objective moral standard... right?

The thing that's specifically bugging me, I think, is that if SIN allows DEMONIC ATTACKS, and the Dogs leave without eradicating Sin from the town, then Demonic Attacks aren't going to cease no matter how the people feel about it.

BUT... I'm kind of figuring that as long as the people are "content" for now, the Dogs can move on, and if Sin remains it will be evident the next time they are in the area, since the Demonic Attacks will have had to take a new tack, because presumably the Dogs will have at the very least thwarted whatever immediate avenues of corruption they were using.

Does that make sense or am I working too hard?

Working too hard!

You and your players decide when the town's done.
