flashinated Dogs badassery
Some of you may remember my threats from a few months ago to create a Flash animation based on a Dogs campaign that I played with an awesome group of folks. And at last, six months and way too much of my free time later, it's finally done.
I will note that there are two versions: one for Internet Explorer and one for Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox. That's because IE sucks and screwed up the timing of the movie, so I had to re-sync it to work with IE. Both of the movies will work, but the Mozilla version is the original, so please for the love of God watch that one since IE makes the baby Jesus cry anyway. (Those of you who use Opera or Safari will just have to suffer in obscurity.)
So! The links!

Internet Explorer: http://www.browserbeware.com/images/dogs-IE.html
Additional Notes:
~ For anyone curious about the story behind our campaign, you might want to check out this thread here:

And lastly...
This animation doesn't do justice to the awesomeness of the campaign that we played. It was an experience that defied superlatives. So this animation is dedicated to my fellow partners in Dogitude, as well as Vincent - without whom I never would have gotten to explore the Dogs universe in the first place. Thanks to you all. You all rock.

Actually it works fine in Safari (most mozilla, and otherwise web compliant stuff does.) Cool stuff!.

Ever seen that episode of Family Guy with Peter singing "My god that's freaking sweet!"
Yeah. That applies to the animation. Freaking sweet.
Thanks so much for sharing.

Anna, that was amazing! It'll probably be my first port of call in any future "Sell me on DitV" thread.
I teared up at the end.

OMF... That's the kind of art that should be in DitV, not the stuff that was in the 2005 version...

My one and only gripe: Where were the Dogs' quilted coats?
But I'm using this as a "How cool is this game? Check this out!" for potential players. Very good work, Anna! :-D

Addressed in a previous thread. Dude, it's Flash. Have mercy!
I think the insanely great thing about this is that someone played Dogs and found the experience so fun and memorable that they were compelled to craft an animated video as both documentation and tribute. I'm filing that away in my "How awesome is this game?" catalog...

It took me six months to do this as is, with no patterned coats. I weep tears of blood at the thought of how long it would have taken me to do if all the coats had been patterned. As it is, I'm absolutely insane for doing as much as I did.
Perhaps if I had a team of highly paid assistants, but... nope. It was just me.

As pure enthusiasm, is how.
You made the coolest thing in the world!
Jason L. Blair and I agree that the closing song is plain inspired. Unbelievable!

*blush* I'm not sure that it deserves the title of coolest. I mean, just about anything by Joss Whedon beats any of my humble attempts at badassery. But thank you for the compliment. :)
And you can thank my husband for the credits song. I was listening to that song while working on the animation and he pointed out that it was very appropriate.
Thanks. :D

Hi, Jason, Anna,
I know, and sorry. It's easy for me to bitch when I have no idea how much toil went into it!
It was probably the first thing my wife picked up on when I showed her it, though! "Where are their coats?" she said. :-D

Second coolest, then.

Kit/Anna: Can I just say, having read your writeup of your last session, that, when I finally get to run and/or play in a Dogs game, I hope that it's even half as good as yours. That was incredibly good, and I can see why you put all that time and work into Flashing it!

Firefly, feh. Call me when Whedon does something about my game, then we can talk about how cool he is.
