Sorcerer & Sword meat grinder

Heya,

Don't have much time, but in a recent discussion of D&D on the Forge, I mentioned that my players had boatloads of fun playing expendable bit parts for a night.

This prompted something I MUST run in an S&S game: "Who wants to be the hero and who wants to go through a progression of expendable, mince-meat bit parts?"

Has anyone tried this?

Mostly, has anyone let the expendable who "survives" a full session be the focus of the next story or series of stories?

Any comments? Experiences?

(Sorry, running late...wife will beat me if I don't pick her up from work...then I'll be playing the expendable part ;P )
