Does anyone else see in this game a pretty nice critique of Ayn Rand? Heroic individualist business leaders as grasping occultists committing mind-numbing horrors in search of personal power? I think the Rand angle at least fits Paul's thematics about corporations and humanity. To be clear, I think that the particular kind of soulless individualism in Rand's philosophy is embodied, with a nice Lovecraftian/horror twist, and undermined (if the game works according to design) by the subsequent action. Anyway, I like the idea of squeaky-clean principled corporate egotists desperately pursuing supreme occult power, so I wanted to see if this resonated with anyone else.

It does. My knowledge of Rand is very limited - her philosophy never got even a modest following in Europe, as far as I can see - but what I did read about objectivism made me feel like reading Kant on ethics or Heidegger on humanism: as if I had somehow entered into a world in which love no longer existed. (The difference being that Kant and Heidegger are brilliant thinkers, whereas at least the defences of objectivism that I have seen were the shallow thoughts of people who didn't even understand what is problematic about the notion of 'objectivity'.)
Yes, I would love the game to be about a group of young executives starting a job at a huge financial corporation, feeding their egomaniacal souls by victimising their more human co-workers, vieing for promotion (Status Change, anyone?) and meanwhile trying to grab supreme occult Power. That would be great.

Cool, Victor.
When I read the rules I immediately thought of Jude Law's character from I Heart Huckabees and thought that that was who I'd play in this game, except as a monstrous sorcerer struggling up the 'ladder' towards cosmic power.
