Dreamation 2006--first draft of schedule
Hey, all.
The first draft of the schedule for the Indie Games Explosion at Dreamation 2006 is available here. We've got over 30 events! Awesome!
Take a look at the schedule. If you can't understand it, or there's an obvious error, post it right here to this thread.
If you want to change something specific, send me a private message or e-mail. I'll do what I can.
If you like it just as it is, send me a private message or e-mail THAT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
1) Your event description
2) maximum/minimum number of players
3) your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address
4) Rate the game as: Very Serious; Serious; Fun; Silly; OR Very Silly
5) What kind of age group is this open to?: Young Audiences ONLY; Suitable for All Ages; Under 18, Parental Clearance Necessary; 18 and Older ONLY
Thanks. Let me know if you have any questions (in the thread--someone may have the same question).

I'm all but positive that you can't have "invite only" events at Double Exposure conventions. You have to take players on a first come, first served basis, to keep things fair. I think that's in their GM guidelines somewhere. So, you can take off the note for the PTA Overtime session. If everyone from the original game wants in, they'd have to preregister and reserve a spot.

I would think that the game could also be taken off the scheduel entirely if it came to that. Nothing stopping them from playing whenever they want.

Thomas said what I meant. I have the Overtime session on the schedule as a reminder to myself not to schedule Ben, Judd, or Andrew to do anything else in that timeslot (or the morning following, if possible). Since the consensus seemed to be that reassembling the original cast was paramount, I wasn't planning on putting on the official schedule. The game wouldn't have an assigned table, and would have to occur at an opening gaming area or in someone's room.
I'll have to reshuffle a few other things. Look for an 2nd draft tomorrow.

The third draft of the scedule is available HERE. I've received some requests for rescheduling, but NO event descriptions since the last update. I want all the event descriptions by this Saturday, folks! That's December 3rd.
Also, anyone who will be making use of the crash space generously provided by Double Exposure needs to contact TonyLB ASAP. He's keeping a list of who's using it and when.
Just to let everyone know, in addition to all those people running games, Joshua Newman (of Under the Bed fame) Jared Sorensen (of Memento Mori/Wicked Dead infamy) will also be in attendance. We're all glad to have them aboard.

Oh, and Shreyas Sampat will also be there, not running scheduled events. Very Cool

Man, I wish I'd paid attention to this earlier and got some better slots (insert rueful smilie here). But I'll be on board.

What trepidation? I'll be pre-registering to be your minion, Rob. What could be more fun?
Seriously, you'll do fine. Thanks for the info.

Many thanks to everyone who's sent me descriptions in the past few days. As you can see HERE, the schedule is almost entirely green. Yay!
Due to unavoidable travel issues, Saturday's a little packed, but that's to be expected at a con of this size.
I hope everyone will get the word out to draw attendees as best as possible. Mention it on your blogs and in relevant threads.
Thanks. Further updates as events warrant.

Hi everyone. I am new to THE FORGE. I will be attending Dreamation 2006, but in a slightly different aspect.
I am attending with a camera crew to cover the convention for www.pscore.net. We cover all things gaming and are looking forward to the convention. Recently we have been covering a large number of video games, but we are expanding our coverage to all other forms of gaming.
We are interested in interviewing any of the people that will be attending the convention, from GMs to developers and everything in between. If anyone is interested in having us interview you about your game or something you will be running at the convention, please email me at Diabolik@pscore.net We would love to interview everyone we can.
Also, I would appreciate any advance information or promotional material about any of the games being displayed or played at the game so that we might teach a representative to play the games ahead of time or at least some idea as to what we have to look forward to.
Thank you and have a Perfect Day.

Okay, quick heads up for all publishers!
I'm Tony, I'm responsible for the booth. They always give us great booth space, so layout and such are not the problems here. But ... you knew there would be a "but", right? But, the booth has classically been grievously undermanned. Which, on some levels ... y'know, that's fine. I live for the booth, so I spend my time there, other people live to run games and that's where they spend their time, and it's not as if we aren't moving product.
So before I start going all crazy-active about drafting people to man the booth and organizing us to know and pitch each other's games, I'm hoping to run a quick survey NOT ON THIS THREAD. Don't respond to this matter on this thread. Seriously. There's no need to clutter. What ya do is this:
• If selling is a low priority for you ... like, you'd be fine with the convention if you sold no copies, so long as you get to run games, play games and chat, then PM me and tell me that.
• If selling is a high priority for you ... like, you're interested in actively pursuing and honing your sales techniques, and figuring out more together about how to do this side of the business, then PM me and tell me that.
• If I do not receive a PM from you then I will assume that you are in the vast middle ground of people who like money, and will do what they can toward getting some, but who don't want to spend brain-sweat working out the how and why.
When I know what sort of group we're dealing with, I'll be able to judge how much organization is useful, and (if needed) I'll spawn some more robust discussion.
Thank you very much!

So, game submissions end today. Is the most recent schedule finalized, Mike?

Yeah, final schedule is at http://incarnadine.indie-rpgs.com/draft06.html with details at http://incarnadine.indie-rpgs.com/d06schedule.html. I sent the stuff to Vinnie about 3 weeks ago, so it should all be good.

Well, I've looked at my schedule for the con, and I won't be able to make the Friday night midnight to 4 a.m. time slot. Have fun, though, and be sure to post an Actual Play.
