[UtB] Question!
Hello,
I just received Under the Bed in the mail today and I'm quite pleased with the purchase! That said, I have one question:
From my read of the rules, it's very possible at later points in the game for a player to narrate the scene his own toy is in and, furthermore, control narration for at least a couple of consecutive conflicts. In actual play, does this detract from the game at all? Am I misunderstanding the rules?
Regards,
Daniel

This one's easy! You can never narrate your own conflicts. When you pull out your own coin, toss it back in or keep it in your hand.

RE: Re: [UtB] Question!
Thanks kindly, Joshua. That'd have been my preference, but it didn't seem to be supported by the rules and I thought I might be messing around with terrible powers I didn't quite understand yet if I made that call.
It also seems to me that keeping the token in your hand would be detrimental from a player perspective as it would reduce your hard-earned narrative rights, correct?
So the best option in my mind seems to be to keep all of your own tokens you draw and then return them to the pot once you've drawn someone else's token.
Sound good?

Daniel

This is the problem with posting from your phone: sometimes you need to explain and you really just want to be brief.
By "keep them in your hand" I mean, just until you've chosen a non-you player. Then thrown the coin(s) from your hand back in. Keeping them in your hand just keeps you from continually rechoosing yourself and having to draw again.
I look forward to your AP and I'm glad you asked this question before playing.

Again, thanks. We'll go ahead with that once I can scrounge up a couple of players.
And since you hinted so nicely, I'll see if I can't provide an AP post or two for you!

Daniel
