This is just a thought that entered my head, not a gripe. Feel free to ignore this and/or tell me that I am cracked.

Is it possible to have a print-friendly button for printing forum threads? I was about to print a thread and was wishing for one. I also have no idea a) if there is much demand for this or b) how difficult it would be to implement. But it was a thought, so I thought that I'd share.

I would like to chime in and agree. I've seen other forums where this has been implemented. I don't know if the software the Forge is running has any such option, but if it does it might not be a bad idea. Of course this also means a bit of work.

I support this idea. If this forum is calling its threads "Articles" it seems only fair to let the Forgefolk print them as such. In other words, discussions here are so good I want to be able to read them in comfort :)

On a more ambitious note, if this web site contains a great deal of innovative ideas, then people may want to catalogue posts, or reference them in articles/essays. Providing a print friendly version caters directly to that group.

There is another post around here somewhere that talks about authors and librarians. This sort of thing should help out the librarians.

This idea is one I've had before, and swear I will work on when I have the time. I think it'd be one of the most useful features we could have.

Actually, I just looked at some user-written modifications for PHPbb, and there's a print-friendly one - I will install this very soon.

Expect to see this feature by next Monday. Thanks, guys!

No way, the thanks goes to you Clinton for the time and energy and money you put into the Forge. I can't wait for the print-ready feature.

Treeslayers!

Is it not enough that you burn coal to make the electricity to fire your cathode-ray tubes to envision these flights of fancy! Now you kill helpless foliage to feed your unending desire. When will the madness stop!

Oh... it will be good for when I need to distribute rules at games, n'such. Hm.

Good work C.

You've now got your print-friendly version - look at the top right hand corner of any topic screen.

I also upgraded the forum software to the newest version - let me know if you have any problems.

Hey Clinton,

It looks good. Is there any way to turn it on for Private Messages? I'd love to be able to generate a big screen of every private message in my Inbox that I could save as a file.

I'm a little slow; I just noticed the addition of "print-friendly". Thanks a lot, Clinton! You are a man among men.
