Recorded Dogs game
I recorded three hours of Dogs play yesterday, but the files are a little noisy. If anyone would like them, to try to pull out useful "actual play" examples to use in teaching people the game, please contact me.

Fred has graciously allowed me to host these files on my website. I'm about half way through the first file of the actual play session and it's been a very interesting experience so far. I'm learning quite a bit.
I'm only sad that the accomplishment recording has gone missing, I would love to hear how that went.
Anyhow:
Character creation
First session pt. 1
First session pt. 2
These are .wav files ranging between 9 and 20 megs. Feel free to download them, I've got more bandwidth than I know what to do with at the moment.
Regards,
Daniel

Thanks for sharing this. I´ve long been wondering how the moment-to-moment play of DitV (and other games) is, and this helps me a lot. Is this session representative of a typical DitV-game? I though it´d involve a whole lot more escalation, some gun-toting and shouting?
Anyway - this just to say that I´ve learned from listening to this (shame about the accomplishments, though).

I have no idea whether it's typical.
I can tell you that I have run three previous Dogs games, and the fact that this one did NOT include a final judgement (yet) cuts out a seriously important piece of the game. The players have discovered a lot of knotty issues in this Town, and it may take an entire session to work them all out... complete with gunfights, sorcery, demonic posession, and maybe even hate and murder. The two brothers are already false priests; it only takes a short step from there for them to become sorcerors.
For example... Brother Hiram has already convinced himself that his brother isn't qualified to be Steward, and that he has the authority to try to replace him. How far is it from that for Brother Hiram to decide that the Dogs are likewise unqualified, that their authority is suspect? That *he* is the one who is listening to the King of Life?
Expect escalation in the next session... bigtime.

I'm going to use Audacity to create a recording when I can get a couple of people together for a game of Dogs. Audacity records and can export into MP3 format for podcasting and so forth.
