So I've been messing around with character sheet designs, taking graphical inspiration from the kabbalistic sephiroth and other occult and astrological sigils.
And though I'm pretty pleased with how it's coming together, what I have isn't finalized by any means. So I've decided to have a fun contest for members of the playtest forum. And here's the rules:
• Design a sephiroth-inspired Acts of Evil player sheet and post a link to it here. Include whatever from the game that you think players will need to track.
• The entry that most influences what I put together as the player sheet for the game when I publish it is the winner, and the creator of it gets a free copy of the game.
• The contest lasts until I ultimately finalize the character sheet for publication. But you only get one entry ever, so use it deliberately and wisely.
• And I reserve the right to be entirely arbitrary and subjective in determining the winner. If it turns out that I don't think any of the entries influenced me much at all, then there's no winner at all. Them's the breaks.
And remember that it's just supposed to be fun.

I don't know how to draw on the computer for crap, so here's some "back seat artist" suggestions:
1. Someone should model from the Qlipoth, the Evil Kabbalah.
2. There should be a graphic to track an occultist's Descension through the stages of Scourge, etc.
3. The Aspects (at least) should have symbols (an eye for Imagination, an open palm for Flesh, a mouth for Voice, etc.)
If someone could draw this for me, that'd be great...

Hey Chris,
3. The Aspects (at least) should have symbols (an eye for Imagination, an open palm for Flesh, a mouth for Voice, etc.)
I like this idea a lot. What symbol would you use for Memory?

Memory is the one Aspect that I had trouble with. I like the idea of imagination being an open eye (scrying, etc.) and memory being a closed eye (introspection, etc.)
I'll keep thinking on that one.

How about a brain for memory?

My current draft, which I had mostly complete prior to the current conversation about iconography for Flesh, Voice, Imagination, and Memory. It uses a font that was supposedly inspired by lettering on old maps. And it has a different shape for recording Slayings. And I still don't like it; it needs to be a different shape than what I use for Power, Resistance, and Denial, but I think it's overly dominant of the whole object for how common slayings will be in play.
And yeah, I like the palm, mouth, open eye, closed eye icons. I'm not sure how I'd fit them into this though. Maybe I need to do a version using them that's a substantial departure from the geometry I've been messing with.
Thoughts?

I know I'm being a back-seat driver here, but I think it would be neat to see some graphic representation of the whole idea of ambition.

Hmm.... like a ladder or stairs--made of people?

Yeah...that would fit. Also, maybe some way to record the stage of "evilution" that an occultist has reached.

I've done some brainstorming on graphically tracking the misanthrope-scourge-anathema character progression. My best current idea is an iconized dice graphic, inspired by the limited edition dice from q-workshop. (Check these out.)
For the triangular, d4-ish anathema icon, I'm thinking a malevolent looking cell, representing an internal primal clarity. For the d6-ish scourge icon, I'm thinking some kind of barbs or thorns, representing rage. And for the d8-ish misanthrope icon...I'm stumped.
And for conversation, my incomplete mock-up.

Those dice graphics would fit nicely along a "Middle Pillar" of some evil Sephiroth.

Hey Paul,
That one is awesome! It looks almost badge-like, and you still have lots of room to throw rules, or make lines for taking notes, or you could go minimalist and just center it.

I'm hammering multiple irons in the fire to have a nice looking ashcan for Gen Con. Wish I knew chaos magic. Here's the latest player sheet.
