Nahuatl Pantheon
I'm all fired up about "interculturalizing" Agon. To that end, goign with what I sort of know, here's the Nuahuatl pantheon:
Tezcatlipoca, God of Fire
Symbols: Smoking mirror
Abilities: Might, Macautl, Shield
Quetzalcoatl, God of Earth
Symbols: Venus, books, corn
Abilities: Might, Macautl, Insight
Huitzilopochtli, God of Air
Symbols: Hummingbirds, the sky
Abilities: Might, Macautl, Aim
Tlaloc, God of fertility and water
Symbols: Water
Abilities: Might, Lore, Spear
Xiuhtecuhtli, God of hope
Symbols: Flame
Abilities: Heal, Insight, Spirit
Mixcoatl, Aspect of Smoking Mirror
Symbols: Fire, atlatl
Abilities: Hunt, Aim, Spear
Xipe Totec, God of renewal and the seasons
Symbols: Human skin, gold, corn
Abilities: Heal, Lore, Spirit
Xochiquetzal, Goddess of art and beauty
Symbols: Flowers, butterfly, moon
Abilities: Music, Grace, Athletics
Macuilxochitl, God of agriculture and the harvest
Symbols: Flowers, tlachtli ball
Abilities: Hunt, Orate, Wrestling
Mayahuel, Goddess of alcohol
Symbols: Pulque
Abilities: Cunning, Grace, Aim
Coatlicue, Goddess of the moon, stars, and maternity
Symbols: Skirt of snakes, necklace of body parts
Abilities: Insight, Cunning, Athletics
Chalchiuhtlicue, Goddess of oceans and streams
Symbols: Jade
Abilities: Orate, Lore, Spear
Crude but workable! I'll refine this intime.

This is awesome!
Honestly, the first thing that hit me when I read Agon was how easy it would be to convert it to some hardcore samurai action. Almost effortless.

Daniel

DUDE. Wow. This rules.
What else would you need to tweak to run Agon in Nuahuatl world? Does the Glory -> Fate stuff still make sense, or would you do something different?

I'm thinking about it and mulling it over. In many ways things were even more deterministic in the relationship between Gods and men than with the Greeks, but in others, not so much (Mayahuel, for example, was just a human babe that started shacking up with Gods until she was a full-on Goddess herself). I don't think glory exactly maps but it's fun to puzzle out. I'll keep you posted. And sacrifice would definitely work a little differently - reversed, actually, since if you stop feeding the Gods, the world will grind to a halt. Good times.
