[TPK] Carnation Island
This one was created especially to hook my daughter, player of Princess Rose, so it's a "princess island." I threw in what would otherwise be more male characters than I envisioned to keep my son, player of Prince Cheese, from getting cooties.
DESCRIPTION
A lovely, sunny island that gets good rains at night. Here the islanders grow flowers that are prized throughout the Kingdom.
The Flower Guides are a troop of young girls who learn about flowers and explore the Island for new varieties. Every girl has to find a new species to attain Petal Rank. The boys don't have a club, but learn from their fathers how to build crates and greenhouses, to get the best deal from the trading ships at the docks, and, most important of all, how to build, turn and age poop into the best plant food it can be.
CONCEIT
Leslie is the daiughter of Mrs. Coot, the leader of the Flower Guides. The Flower Guides are too big for Mrs. Coot to manage now, and Leslie has been "helping" by bossing the other girls around, even though Leslie isn't really supposed to be in charge of the other girls.
INJUSTICE
Mayor Samantha won't let Mrs. Coot have any adult helpers. She's afraid Mrs. Coot wants to be Mayor, so she's happy if most of the island thinks the Flower Guides are having problems, and that Mrs. Coot is showing favoritism to her own daughter.
DISOBEDIENCE
Some of the Flower Guides are so annoyed by Leslie's bossiness that the refuse to go on Flower Guide expeditions at all.
OUTLAWS
Because the Flower Guides aren't getting their exploring done, some ships from other islands have started sneaking into the far valleys and stealing new flower strains!
UNREST
Now nobody at the docks trusts the trading ships (because of the outlaws), the traders can't get cool new flowers (because of the Guide problems), business is bad and everyone is angry.
LOSS OF LIBERTY
Factor Jasper has declared that individual traders and growers can no longer negotiate prices on individual flowers and lots. Now there's one single price for every flower. That means the Islanders with the really popular flower strains are selling out too quickly and the growers of less fashionable flowers have to watch their stock rot in the bins. And it just makes traders want to turn bandit even more.
THE PEOPLE INVOLVED
Mrs. Coot wants the Princesses to assign more adults to help with the flower guild.
Mayor Samantha wants the Princesses to decide Mrs. Coot is doing a bad job.
Leslie wants the Princesses to make her an official "junior leader" of the Flower Guide.
Three Enemies of Leslie want to embarrass her in front of the Princesses.
A Shipful of Outlaws want to strip a far valley of all of its flowers.
Captain Shale at the docks wants the Princesses to get rid of Factor Jasper's stupid restrictions.
Factor Jasper wants the Princesses to stop the outlaws.
Three Manure Boys want to fling poop at sailors, since sailors are all no good thieves.
Mrs. Wain wants the Princes to let her help Mrs. Coot with the Flower Guides.

How do you plan to address the fact that Princess Rose's player will fall asleep halfway through the island, leaving Prince Cheese to handle everything?
Do you think that the Loss of Liberty on this island is something that Princess Rose's player will understand?

We started early and ended at 9, getting through something more than half the island. She stayed awake for the whole thing.

Well, we can seize the teachable moment on the importance of voluntary transactions! ;) But the LOL has some travel restrictions bundled into it which are pretty graspable. And her (meatspace) elder brother is there too. I'll let you know how that part goes.
Best,
Jim
