I'm not sure where I want this thread to go, but I had an observation from our last playtest and a thought.

During our last playtest---our second actual play session and about the 3rd or 4th round of scenes (I forget)---things started getting a little more graphic/ disturbing. As you would expect. But I noticed a couple time I started getting giggly---in that, "I can't believe how sick this is getting" sense. After thinking about it, I was reminded of some of the stuff I've read about Kill Puppies for Satan. Vincent (and others) and noted that players often begin the game giggly, making fun of what's happening. But then at some point, they cross "the Line", where things are no longer funny, and things start getting disturbing. Ron has noted that if you keep playing past the line, you'll reach a point where things get so bad you start feeling sorry for the characters.

Paul, what do you think? Do you think we might hit the Line, and beyond? If things keep going like they are, I think it might happen. Is that the sort of experience you want from the game? I mean, I know we need to keep playing and actually see if it happens and all.
