Combined game advice
I'm fairly new to the forge but I've been reading alot about all these wonderful devices like Relationship Maps, Scene Framing, Bob and Weave, basically most of the things listed in the glossary. The glossary being what it is, the descriptions for these things are very succinct, hardly enough to learn how to use them in play.
I was hoping someone might have collected articles or posts about all these techniques and how to use them in your games. I've tried searching the forum, but I couldn't find anything mentioning more than a couple of them. I know it's unlikely to exist, but I thought I'd better ask before starting to collect these myself.

Bangs, Kickers, Relationship Maps, Bobs, Weaves, Lines, Veils, and a whole lot of other stuff are discussed in Sorcerer and its supplements (& Sword, & Sex, Soul).
There is an art to good aggressive scene framing, but really, it just boils down to "cut to the action".
You're asking a really big question here. You'll probably have better luck if you go over to the Actual Play forum and ask about one specific technique (like Scene Framing) and ask people for examples from their play of various games.
Something to be aware of is that while many of these techniques are semi-generic, the actual implementation of these techniques needs to be game-specific. Meaning, while the idea behind a bang in Sorcerer and Hero Quest are the same, the actual content of a bang in Sorcerer (which is largely character-driven) is going to be different from a bang in HQ (which is setting-driven).

Wow, I just stumbled upon almost exactly what I was looking for. An expanded version of the glossary here on the Forge.

Hello,
I'm going to have to close this thread, because it's not about ideas for a game to be designed. Ward, it's great to have you here, and I suggest posting in Actual Play, about your own role-playing experiences. I and others will be happy to show you how the terms you're interested in apply (or fail to) in those accounts.
Best, Ron

Ok, thanks for the offer. Next time I GM a game I'll be sure to post about it in Actual Play mentioning how I tried to use the things I mentioned.

Actually, Ward, I suggest posting now, about a game you've played in the past. Actual Play threads don't have to be up-to-the-minute journalism; they can be about any RPG experience you've ever played.
Also, this thread is now closed, which means that no one can post to it again, through mutual acceptance of the rules, which is why I don't lock closed threads. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a private message (click IM under my name, to the left).
Best, Ron
