A guy I met through a mutual friend just told me that he's got a seat at the Forge booth for GenCon this year.

He mentioned that he's demoing a new game called Zen for Ron, Vincent, and Luke. I wanted to know if there was any truth to that.

The way it has worked for the past couple years is that you go to the convention center and collect your badge from the registration desk for exhibitors (it is usually in the main corridor outside the exhibit hall). You should be able to ask for it by your name or company name. If that doesn't work, tell them to check the Adept Press folder. Then head to the booth in the hall. The "Forge Booth"* is #1739. Here's a map or here. Folks usually start gathering at the booth around noon and throughout the afternoon.

I'm sure Ron will post if there is a different plan this year.

Julie has described the process exactly right.

As far as arriving and getting into the hall are concerned, do not, do not say "Forge booth!" or they will look at you in confusion. The Forge is not a company or institution of any kind. Do not, in an attempt at clarification, say "Ron Edwards!" or "Big Model!" as if they were talismans. They aren't.

Say your name because there's a badge waiting there for you with your name on it. Say Adept Press when referring to the booth.

I hope to arrive in the exhibit hall at about 2 pm, and we'll need to prepare it to the extent we can before the flooring and the shelves arrive. Unfortunately, everything will probably show up in exactly the reverse order, based on people's travel times, meaning that the second the flooring arrives, it needs to be laid down, then the second the shelves arive, they need to be erected and stocked. So right about the time when people are burned out and bored from hanging around for hours, is when they'll be most needed.
