Seeking art for Sufficiently Advanced
Hi everyone.
<a href="http://community.livejournal.com/suffadv/">Sufficiently Advanced is getting to the stage where I need artwork. Ergo, I am looking for artists.
I'm going to be looking not just for good art, but for a specific feel. Clean lines, a feeling of elegance or optimism, and beautiful vibrant color - the whole book is going to be full-color. Some of the stuff I've already made for it (and Daniel Solis' beautiful cover) can be found on my <a href="http://wrpigeek.deviantart.com/prints/">DeviantArt site, but that's the extent of my artistic talent - I have no ability to draw people.
My pay is typically $25 per quarter-page, and I do usually buy quarter-page illustrations. Since this is probably going to be a 200-page book, I'm going to need quite a few pieces. My checkbook quails in terror, believe me. Artists will get to keep the rights to their work, including the ability to resell it to others.
If you know anyone whose art fits those criteria and is willing to work for that price, please let me know.

What kind of work are you looking for at $25 a piece? Are we talking actual scenes or simple decorative pieces?
My price range may be a little too steep for the work you're after, but who knows, if it's an interesting project I may be able to make some concessions.
My work can be found at my website, http://dainkaulakisart.com.

Hi Colin,
I saw your DA site and, even if I'am not sure any of my usual styles suits you need, I'd appreciate you taking a look at my site:

and my DA gallery:

Thanks for the replies, everyone. It's especially nice to see endorsements from others. :) I'm working on contacting folks right now, and am sort of "going down the chain", while simultaneously planning for the precalc class I'm teaching this summer. I got quite a few responses. I promise I'll send out e-mails or PMs by the 22nd.
As far as what I'm looking for, it varies from piece to piece. I have some that are crowd scenes and others that are just one or two people. Some are moderately specific, but there are a few where I just say "here's your genre - go nuts."

I'm quite new to these forums, but Ive been doing freelance since '99. I am well versed ins several styles and work almost exclusively with small-press and indie publishers.
feel free to check out my site at:

If you find something that fits, feel free to contact me. $25 for quarter page is about what my contracts have all been lately.

Thanks for the link. Good variety of styles! Right now I have everyone I need, but if someone has to call out for one reason or another I'll keep you in mind.

Hello Colin,
I just saw your post and it seems as though you have filed all of your slots. If you find that you have some more openings I would be interested in working with you. Here is a link to what I have on deviant art; http://greenairplane.deviantart.com/gallery/
