Quick question on a missing file

I was just doing a switch over of all my files to the new computer and seemed to have missed The world the flesh the devil (much sadness). I have been trying to track down some one with the file still but to no avail. If any one has one kicking around still please pm.

Regards, Seth

I'm sure Paul will send you one - try posting in the Halfmeme forum to make sure he sees it.

Hey Seth,

Have you ever used the Internet Archive Wayback Machine to find old pages?

The game rules, with images, can still be found in the Wayback Machine:

http://web.archive.org/web/20030206052321/http://www.123.net/~czege/WFD.html

The World, the Flesh, and the Devil font page, unfortunately sans images, can likewise still be found:

http://web.archive.org/web/20020205175758/http://www.123.net/~czege/WFDfont.html

Unfortunately, Ben Morgan, who designed the font, seems to have let his domain go. The font used to be here:

http://www.ad1066.com/misc/fonts.htm

Anyway, what happened to the game, and why am I suggesting you seek it out via the Wayback Machine? Have you seen my thread, "the mortification of the world, the flesh, and the devil"?

http://www.indie-rpgs.com/viewtopic.php?t=2536

Essentially, from playtesting I realized the game had some inobvious design issues, and when I started up Half Meme Press and published My Life with Master I migrated Nicotine Girls and The Valedictorian's Death to the Half Meme Press website. But I couldn't figure out a way to present The World, the Flesh, and the Devil that acknowledged its design issues...so out of frustration I just didn't migrate it. If you have any suggestions on this, I'd love to hear them. But if you're thinking of playing the game, I'd recommend instead Vin Diakuw's Reverse RPG. Although I haven't played it, I think it achieves all of the social contract and design goals I had for The World, the Flesh, and the Devil, but without the issues:

I forgot to answer your other question! I would put the game up on your site with a disclaimer on the top stating that due to design flaws and the desire to pursue other projects you have left "The World, The Flesh, The Devil" as it is. On a side note I know that while not completely functional the game is a huge wealth for design concept (one of my biggest inspirations) and it would be cool to open it as a creative commons thing possibly in wiki format and allow people to throw up their variations of it (much like pool).

If your looking for some kind of return from this simply thread the wiki with ads here and their, not allot just enough to get yourself some pocket change here and there. By allowing others to create content via the wiki and earning a bit back from the time put in you may even find some inspiration from the fans to jump back at it.

What ever you decide the design concept behind the game was great and I have sought to tweak the crap out of it since I first read it.
