OK, this has been bugging me for a couple years now, and i just never think to ask it somewhere useful:

What is the etymology of "burn"/"burning" as used in The Burning Wheel and Burning Empires? I know the meaning ("to create"), i'm just wondering where the term came from.

I needed a name for the character book. I just decided one day that it would be called the Character Burner.

That's it!
