Right now I'm making a wargame/RPG, which I hope to publish in a few months. I am planning to add a number of small drawings to the rulebook, and looking for an artist.
My game is set in a medieval-ish fantasy environment. A major component of my game is the fact that it takes place on two worlds, and as such I'm looking for two different styles (dark, gritty, and desperate for the real world, bizarre and surreal, and maybe also dark, for the spirit world). I'd rather avoid any races which were obviously from Tolkien or D&D, or any nude images. Drawings will need to be in black and white, submitted in electronic formatting, and I would prefer several small drawings (mostly 1/4 page-ish, and a one or two 1/2 page). I do not have any exact image I want you to create, but rather have a long list of picture ideas for you to choose from (and would be open to any ideas of your own, I'll send you a pdf of my game for ideas).
The exact price and number of drawings you could make are negotiable. I do not actually wish to purchase the exclusive copyright to your art, merely a license to use it for my game (in other words, and agreement I can put it in my rules and other products, and use it for advertising purposes, but it is still essentially your art, you can still sell copies to others as long as I can continue to use it, you can show it at shows, etc). I will also put your name and any desired contact info in the credits section of my rulebook. If you are interested, please either post here or send me a private message, and include a link to a portfolio or several samples of your artwork.
The artwork I buy does not need to be new, and I would gladly consider purchasing any artwork which have been sold under similar non-exclusive contracts (so long as it meets the requirements above). If you're interested in this, just send me a link to the actual artwork.
