Anyone have any ideas on how the booth should look? Anyone care? Do I have carte-blanche to aim for maximum gaming sassiness?

Hi Jason,

On my end, I plan on having my small table, a poster of the Sorcerer cover either hung up or on an easel, and a square Adept Press logo poster either hung up or on a stand on the booth.

I figure whatever you want on the Little Fears end is totally up to you. Like me, you have 5'-6' of frontage to work with as well as a very deep space behind you.

The real question is the middle. We've talked about the tables and so forth, but what else? I think a Forge poster is essential. I also think we should be careful about the Driftwood Publishing presence, because Jake has a ton of "booth stuff" for TROS and there's some potential that he'll dominate that area.

Best,
Ron

RE: Booth design

I would like a sweeping theme or design that unifies the three booths. I was thinking of a long poster with the Adept logo on one end and the Key 20 logo on the other end and something splashy and cool in the middle. Maybe just "Adept Press and Key 20 Publishing present: THE FORGE, the home of independent gaming" or something like that.

Hmm... if we're taking up 5 to 6 feet on each end, that leaves 18 to 20 feet in the middle. Damn, that's sweet.

Another concern is the acquisition of demo tables. Another is whether or not we'll be able to get half-tables. If we can't get half-tables, then we can use that space for flyers, games, etc. But if we don't have small tables (preferably small, round tables) the I don't know what we'll do for demo action. The same goes for chairs.

With the booths, we get six chairs and three 8' tables. Hmm... I have an idea. Let me sketch it up and I'll scan it in and put in online. By the time you read this, I should have a link.

As far as Driftwood's presence, Jake will have to make sure he doesn't load the middle with all his goods. As far as I know, he's only paid as much as everyone else, and if he starts to dominate the area, we'll just have to rein him in.

Hi Jason,

I planned on calling the "booth person" and finding out what we get for free, what we can get, and so on.

My first choice is to "dot" the center with small round tables, at least three of them. My second is to go for exactly what you sketched, except to have two parallel play tables, not just one.

Also, I've talked to Jake about the dominance issue, and he's aware that he'll get reined in a bit if necessary. We'll both have to keep an eye on that.

Best,
Ron

Same here. I was just working off what I knew we would have.

Let me know if the call to el boothador is fruitful.
