Hi,

played Agon for the first time the other day and the main query we had was impairment for simple contests that are between the players only, i.e. the Antagonist isn't rolling any dice. For example Orate contests to determine the leader.

Do all characters who roll less than the highest roll get their ability impaired?

Yep, that's right. If you lose a simple contest, you take impairment.
