Hi,
Black Cadillacs is coming to GenCon Indy. I'm a member of the Ashcan Front (booth #2039), and I'll be demo'ing and selling the ashcan there.
Here's the back cover blurb, which is only mildly hyperbolic:
You play soldiers during wartime. It's bloody and heroic and tense and horrifying.
And then...
You tell the stories of what happened to you. As players you see everything, what happened, and how it got told to family, friends, loved ones, and to fellow soldiers. In the gap between what happened and how it got told is the most powerful humanity you'll ever play.
I'm very excited about both the game and the physical product. The game is well-playtested and solid (but still needs that extra blind playtesting, thus the ashcan.) The product is a true labour of love. It's 104 pages, half-letter spiral-bound (like a steno pad), featuring a hard cover with rivets and stainless steel.
In addition to the booth demos, I'm also running two scheduled games of Black Cadillacs at the Indie Games Explosion. If I'm reading GenCon's game registrations right, there are still some spots left for the Friday and Saturday games (both run 2pm-6pm).
Personally, I'm itching to do something with the siege of Stalingrad in WWII, or maybe the soviet push westwards after they break the Wehrmacht.
Oh! I'm planning on all kinds of after-hours gaming too, and could probably be coerced into facilitating a game of Black Caddies.
Cheers,
D
