In the threads on the archive, Ron and Clinton made it pretty clear they didn't have time to do the project themselves.

So here is the plan,

1. I'll manually sort through the most popular and frequently linked-to threads in each forum index, one by one.

2. I'll post a rough list in Site Discussion for comments. I'll accept suggestions but only if they corrected a significant omission. This is also the time to note objections, especially if the thread contains things you've changed your mind about: You'll be able to note that in the thread's summary.

3. I'll write a brief synopsis of each thread, including names of posters, length, dates started and finished, and basic topic covered as well as context if required. I'll note special comments here, as well. This is where the "I've changed my mind" comments would go.

4. These synopses will be published in a document in a new, separate, Archive index. The document will be locked and labeled, for your archive needs.
