After this first issue, I'm going to have an open call for submissions. For the first issue, though, I'm going to keep it amongst invited contributors, and perhaps people you recommend.
Unlike a magazine like Pyramid or d20 Weekly, we're not focused on one game, so articles have to be more substantial - a list of magic weapons for Game X wouldn't be enough, but a list of magic weapons, and a little story hook for each would.
Here's some ideas of things I'd be looking for:
- Complete adventures for any indie game (or d20/Fudge). A TROS adventure would be awesome.
- Alternate settings for games. (Like I've mentioned, get permission first.) This would be in the line of Jared's Cthulhu setting for Inspectres, or my old The Iron Palace for Sorcerer.
- Hell, a list of magic weapons with story hooks for each.
- Designer's notes for a game - the decisions you made and why you made them.
If you've read the proposal, you've seen that all articles will be freely viewable, just not printable. Think about that when writing your article - things like essays or designer's notes probably won't sell that well because they're not "crunchy." That's not to discourage work on them - if you want to give it away for free, that is well and good by me. (And you'll still get paid if someone buys the entire magazine at once.)
Anyone who has any cool article "seeds" should feel free to post them here.
