[PTA] Changing traits

Hi, Matt!

From page 41 of PTA:

"There are three times available for a player to change a trait, if he or she wants:
• Between seasons of the series.
• At the end of that player’s spotlight episode.
• At a pivotal moment during the protagonist’s spotlight episode.

Again, this new trait must replace an existing trait of the same kind. That is, a player cannot remove an edge to gain a connection. It may or may not mean that the protagonist doesn’t have certain abilities anymore. What it does mean is that the trait that’s been replaced will not have a mechanical impact on the story."

1) This means that ONLY one trait can be changed at any of these times, of even two or more?
2) what is the design motivation behind the "of the same kind" rule?

Moreno:

It was five years ago. In veritas, I don't remember why I made that choice.

What I would say now is that you can change one trait however you like so long as you retain at least one connection and one edge. Change just one trait at a time.

Hope that helps.
