I doubt people would head halfway around the world to head to a game convention, but I'm sharing some ideas with everyone here anyway.

In 12 months time (the middle weekend in June), I'll be running a convention on an island in the middle of Sydney Harbour, in Australia.

The island is called Cockatoo Island, it's where the majority of the movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" was filmed; a disused naval base in the middle of the harbour which has recently been opened to the public as an event space and camping ground.

The games we'll be running are generally low-prep affairs, or at least games that don't require a dozen rule-books, elaborate maps, miniatures and other paraphernalia to be lugged onto the island (if you bring stuff like this, you'll have to carry it yourself, and the only transport to the island is a ferry service). The event will run over the course of a few days, with tents provided on the site, plenty of day time activities for those for don't want to camp on the island and a few night sessions on each of the two nights for those who want to get the most put of their experience. Still working out details like food, depending on how many people are interested in the concept.
