[CON] The Convention RPG

Hello all,

I am in the late-draft/playtesting stage of a roleplaying game that turns fandom conventions into games.  You earn fan rating for doing convention activities, and there are various classes with stats depending what kind of 'geek' you are. You also encounter 'monsters', or convention obstacles, which can hinder your convention experience. The plan is to make it primarily a convention journal/diary in book form, that people can carry around and write down their convention experiences, and then look back at past conventions. The books will be made with lots of empty pages so the player can just write straight into the book. We are also planning an editable pdf and an iphone app. I am the primary writer, and my best friend has come up with many of the ideas and will be the layout designer. My brother is a professional programmer, and has committed to turning it into an app.

We did our first playtest this weekend at a tiny new convention with just me and a couple of others. Mostly I was just seeing how the numbers balanced.  I actually think it was skewed a bit low, so I've been reworking some of them. There were people from some of the larger conventions in the area who I know, and I let them take a look at it, and they loved it. One convention asked me to at least demo it in September at their convention, and they are talking about making it available on a larger scale because it promotes attending convention activities. They attract about 15,000 people.  I also promised a demo/panel to the convention which inspired it, but that isn't until March.  But the overwhelming response I got from these convention pros overwhelmed me, and I've sort of committed to getting it out as quickly as possible.  I'd like for it to be up in editable pdf on Drive Thru and RPGNow by Dragon*Con, and as an app, if possible.

I'm still working on the website, here: http://www.iquixotic.com/con/
Planning to get a domain and all that, but I just made it this morning.  I wasn't quite prepared for the response I got this weekend.
