After all the GenCon greatness, it's time to attack the local cons. I've been attending Seattle conventions for two years, and have noticed a lot of people that don't attend GenCon - who don't know that WotC and WW aren't the only two gaming companies - attend the local conventions.
There's a load of local conventions coming up according to http://www.sjgames.com/con/. Find one you're near, and see what you can do.
I'm headed to Dragonflight Aug. 23-25, and running Sorcerer and Riddle of Steel as scheduled games. (I'm hoping to play some Donjon informally - especially with Steve Jackson there. For some reason, I think I need to infect him with it.) If you're in Seattle, show up and we'll have a great time.

Funny you should mention Dragonflight -- Seraphim Guard will have a booth there. I'm going to need to arrange now to get copies of my game back over here in time for the event, but HeartQuest will be played at Dragonflight -- from character creation demos at the booth (model your favorite shoujo character! or create your own from scratch!) to a run of my popular Slayers adventure Saturday night.
I just hope I don't get drowned out by the local and very loud specialist anime GM again....

End of the month, I very much think I'll be at DragonCon for at least one day. Any other Forgers heading to Altanta?

I'll be running 3 sessions of Sorcerer at Gateway here in L.A. I noticed that there's a con I didn't know about called ConTours be held in Burbank. I'll have to look into that.

Dragonflight admission
It's been a few years since I last went to Dragonflight (2000?). Interesting little con.
Anyway, I swung by their webpage... and happened to notice this:
Dragonflight 2002 Convention Fee $40
Is this accurate? Just the fee for those that don't pre-register?
That might throw an obstacle in the way of my attendance.
Ouch.

That's the correct registration price. I think it's a little high, as well.
It should be a good convention this year, though - if you come, make sure and catch up with me. I may well - hopefully - have a couple of copies of Donjon on hand.

No, Clinton, no! Do you really want to see GURPS Donjon?

There's a weekend con in Sheboygan, WI in late February called Fire & Ice that I sent off an e-mail about. Admission is 'half price or free' (don't know what the full price is) if you're running events, so I'm going to run a couple sessions of 2 Page Action Movie RPG, and a Dead Meat run each day if it sounds like a decent smaller con.

Well, SJG is already putting out d20 Munchkin... I think an Clinton-approved SJG Donjon supplement with d20 and GURPS conversion, done tongue-in-cheek, would be great. ;^)

Well, it's a wargaming convention rather than an RPG one, but I'll be at Warfair in Atlanta August 23-25. Heading up with some old friends who are wargamers.

I'll be running games at two cons in New Jersey:
LollaGazebo, Sept 20-23 in Piscataway, NJ. I'm running InSpectres. My wife is running Everway.
ShoreCon, October 10-13 in Cherry Hill, NJ. I'll be running a new, comedic FVLMINATA adventure, "Weekend at Bernius" as well as InSpectres and Donjon Krawl (I'll run Donjon if it's ready [hint, hint]) My wife is running Everway and Nobilis.

Oh, Donjon will be ready by then.
"Weekend at Bernius"? Awesome. If this goes well, I'm really hoping you publish it as a PDF. The name alone hooked me.

Hey,
I'll be running Hero Wars and Sorcerer demos at Games Plus, in Mount Prospect, IL, on "Game Day," September 28th.
Best,

I'll be running InSpectres and possibly octaNe at Conclave (if the organizers return my emails...hmmm).
The convention is in Merrimack, New Hampshire and will be run from September 27-29.

Ron,
A buddy & I are actually thinking of going to "Game Day," driving overnight from South Jersey. We both know Sorcerer, but neither of us has any knowledge on playing Hero Wars...
Questions:
Do you have to "know" Hero Wars in able to play?
Is it Pre-gen characters for Sorcerer and/or Hero Wars?
Thanks in advance,
Gonster

Hi Gonst',
I'm making the demos specifically to introduce people to the games - no prior knowledge required.
Best,
Ron
P.S. Everyone, this thread's starting to humpback around ... let's not use it any more for a bulletin-board. Yes, I know I was guilty too.
