I was watching SALT, and at the scene where Angelina Joylene (or however you spell it) created a crude rocket launcher out of a desk leg and owned whatever generic spy agency the movie features, I desperately wanted to see that as an RPG. Basically, a game in which you play a generic rogue-spy-protagonist, and as such a character, make 'impossible' stunts and action sequences easily pulled off. I want manouevers like that Die Hard 4 scene where he drives the car into the helicopter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5z0OaJc2BE) available on a d6 roll. thoughts? System ideas? Potential issues?

Do you mean the players make up new scenes? You could simply have a series of charts that describe scenery/props and give hints at background skills that could potentially be employed (like the makeshift weapon thing). I've written something like that once and it was quite engaging in play to draw all the props together into a big action plan.

You could go in a more rules-light, story-telling-game direction.
Ever play Mad Scientist University?

No I haven't, but I'm looking it up now... Rules-light was the general idea, I want level up system (so a campaign could open on basic-yet-awesome combat, and end on a spectacular finish,) something along the lines of 'kill, add points to skills, repeat,' and earn the odd ability along the way. Combat will probs be based entirely on a d6, d6s are familiar to ppl who have never seen an RPG before, so the sort of tards who are used to mindless action movies could get into it. I think I've got a system worked out now, I'm gonna playtest tomorrow, my biggest concern is that I'm not sure how the "MacGyver system' will work out, it may be a tad complex, it'll definately put some strain on the GM during preperation, even if it's simple for the players in game. Is that okay?

In the end I think D&D or maybe something like GURPS would be the best.
A spy is merely a normal, or not so normal, person gathering information in a ''stealthy'' way. Have your characters start at level 1, have them do something that works in favor of a certain secretive group... or not so secretive or just something that makes them ''shine'' more than the others in their environment and work from there. The rules are already written and pretty solid, the action your aching for is only waiting...
