King Arthur is alive and tending bar in New York.
The Three Wise Men are searching the Nevada desert for a boy named Jesse.
Hercules is a construction worker from Detroit.
Everyone has a story. Some are just more interesting than others.
That's why they keep getting retold.

Cool can add that to the short list of games I am buying.
Currently it consists of:
Living Legends
2nd (thats just looks so damn good)
the next Little Fears book, file, whatever you put out
Kult: Beyond the Veil
and Mak Attack sourcebook for UA.
Thats about it. You currently hold three of the five slots of things I am going to buy. Congrats.
Now if I can just get the time to run something.

V&V for some reason that calls to mind Voltswagons and vagabonds. Anywho yes the game dose look very cool and is on the list of things to do instead of buying food.

And again, because it's an oldie but a goodie: what do the people do? Any specific reason these old legends are hanging around?

RE: NEW GAME: MODERN MYTHS
It's coming along quite well, actually. I'll probably push back the release date (surprise!) but only to make it that much cooler. It's not that the old legends are hanging around, but that various people embody the legends and their lives tend to mirror the legend's.
RE: Dice Mechanic
Damn, I totally missed this question. No, it does not use the LF system. It has its own pretty sweet mechanic.

Hola! A few quick questions about Liveing Legends. Unfortunatly most of them have to do with money :-( I know sorry to bother you about such boring stuff but I want to make sure I have enough so that I can snatch up a copy as soon as it is available. So I'll need to know how much it will be costing...ballpark estimate mind you. The way I manage money is I write down on the 20 dollar bill what I'm going to spend it all and tack it to the wall. Right now I just need to know how much needs to go under the Key20 tack that's all.
Also you mentioned the release date might be pushed back a bit. Any news on this? This also effects the money under the tak because I will possibly be getting more between now and then and I don't want to loose my head with this years spending orgy. Thanks for oyur time and your hard work, we are all looking forwards to liveing legends amongst my group of freinds.

No worries then, if it is in april that is right around my birthday so it is a moot point as I will already have my money supply recharged then. All is well. Good now I have enough money to see Adaptaion twice.

Okay, so how does this come up? Are there people hunting the legends? Are some legends keep on stirring up old battles? What's the deal with the troll on the Living Legends page? Any more details you can give us, setting-wise?
Thanks!

the answers to your questions, in order, are:
a) yes. other legends.
b) yes.
c) it is a troglin, not a troll. it is bad bad news. the troll is its smaller, tamer child. trolls, also, are bad bad news.
d) it's set in modern day, with the legends of the earth roaming free. and that's all i'll say for now.

Just a quick update: Modern Myths is sailing pretty smooth. Currently, I'm reworking a few mechanics and expanding the "World of Myth" guidelines. Also, playtest continues and final art (by the awesome Gregory Pogorzelski) will be in within a few months. After that, it's editing and layout then...RELEASE!
An early summer date is still right on track!

I will make the announcement (come Hell or high-water) on April 7th.
APRIL 7TH

Its important because it will either become modern myths and other non alchoholic items or scotch. I'm still not sure which, I figgure Modern Myths not coming out soon will be good enough reason for an alchohol binge.

See, that's what is great about being me: I don't care. If nothing else, I feel a little better that I'm letting someone know that someone likes their work and is eager to see it. Plus, if they shut me up by throwing some playtest info at me, so much the better. ;-)
If they ignore me, or tell me to go away, what have I lost?
BTW, Jason, what's up with Modern Myths and Wyrd is Bond? ;-)

Modern Myths is a stand-alone game that just happens to mesh nicely with Wyrd is Bond. Their systems are quite similar, though, which I like. After Wyrd is Bond is finished, it's just a matter of tweaking, editing, and laying out Modern Myths for sale.

"Betsy's house in Ohio offered some shelter from Morganas forces thanks to Harry's 'Aether of Obfuscation' trick. The old girl never looked better, her present incarnation being that of a sun-kissed california girl never without a needle and thread sticking out of her mouth like some kind of tethered toothpick. Her stitchwork and Houdini's poultices had saved my life, but I knew she kept beating herself up over Paul. She couldn't have done anything anyway...Mordred's poisoned blade had hit its mark and he died in the kind of agonizing way I'd only seen once before...long, long ago.
Babe gave a little grunt just then and laid her massive head in my lap as if joining me in my somber thoughts. Damn this war...Damn this Spear...and most of all Damn Morgana and her Son. As a Centurion I felt in my heart of hearts we would eventually win this war, but how many good men and women had to die?"

Jason,
Any chance this will be available for print on demand via rpgnow or some other source? I've been looking forward to this one, and while I like pdf's, nothing beats a book in your hands. Plus, I got spoiled when I got a printed copy of Charnel Gods from Scott from his limited print run..

I hope that means it will be coming out sooner rather than later. Though the something else part kind of worries me. I hope that doesn't mean a major change in the setting, because I thought the setting concept really rocked.
Still, seeing it come out is something I am still currently looking forward to.
