What I'm trying to do here is create a (1) fun (2) easy (3) gamist (4) parodic (5) RPG (6) that uses darts.

The reason for (6) is (4): I'm parodying the game Gears of War, especially its mindless racial stereotypes. I'm also getting at its hyper-machismo. And dart-tossing seems like a nice cross-media skill-simulation.

I have not yet had a chance to playtest this game. That's because I came up with it on the way home from work tonight and wrote it all up just now.

(1) Do these rules seem comprehensible?

(2) Do these rules seem fun?

(3) Does this game seem like something you'd like to play? Why or why not?

It's your first draft, I know, and your already said your going to tidy it. But I think it needs to be made as fluid as possible, so no one has to read ahead in the rules to know how to play. It needs to be like they just read what to do, do it, then down to the next line. Having to remember anything more than what step your at is probably a no-no. Probably because they will be drunk.

Also it doesn't seem to reference any reaction to spoken fiction, much?

So I'd be inclined to turn the stupid one liners into a sort of sick version of spiritual attributes from TROS. Ie, if your unicorn pursues the goal behind his stupid one liner, he gets that bonus. Of course the goal might be so imbecilic as to not seem much of a goal (go over to dead enemy and stand over face. Press crouch button repeatedly...), but that's the point, really.

Also kind of dissapointed were not killing sparkly vampires first...

I thought it was pretty funny but I have no idea if I would play something like this. I think Callan's right in that, when presenting a comedy game, you want the rules to be accessible as possible.

Thanks for taking the time to peruse the rules, guys.

Both of you are definitely right about rules presentation. A reorganization will constitute the next version of the rules. And I like that TROS-inspired idea. Back to work.
