I created a modified DitV where everyone plays really involved NPC's so relationships are important.  At the moment were debating killing off NPC's which is good for story, but people are bringing up what to do with the relationships dice with those that have died?  I'm curious to see what others have done?  If an NPC dies that has a relationship with your character should the player be allowed to switch who they have a relationship with?  Do those dice just become free dice again?  Or do you use the dice as a relationships still and when the dead's memory is in conflict let them use the dice?

If you have a relationship with someone who's died, it's the same as having a relationship with someone who's not present for any other reason.

Look at the rules for bringing a relationship into play, page 68-69.

You might never get to roll those relationship dice again. That's by the rules.
