Online Kayfabe Game!
Ok, it's come to my attention over the last few months that a lot of
people have been having trouble getting their gaming group to play
Kayfabe or their wrestling fan friends to play an RPG. SO, as
much as I dislike playing online games, this is what I propose.
I will run an online game under the following restriction.
1) We use ICQ or Yahoo chat to play. I do not want to mess with
alternate methods even if they do have advantages. These are
what I know. If you don't have ICQ or Yahoo, they're free and easy
to use.
2) The game will consist of 6 players including myself. ICQ chat
only allows 6 people in a chat at one time (at least that was the
limit last time I did it). The smaller number will also better
simulate how a real game will play out. The first 5 people to
email me will be the people who play.
3) If you can't dedicate the time to doing your part, don't bother
asking to play. I expect prompt response to emails. That means
same or next day responses. If you're going to be out of town I
need to know.
This is how the scedule will work:
Once the game is filled everyone will have one week to email me
their characters. You can create as many as you want, but if I
don't have 1 experienced character and two additional characters
in my mailbox in 7 days I bring in the alternates.
You must also email your ICQ and Yahoo IDs to everyone in the
game. Mine are
Yahoo = mattgwinn71
ICQ = CrunchyFrog (ICQ# = 107447713)
We will then meet online to discuss the roster, and promotion.
Once all that is set up we will set a storyline due day. All
matches, promos and interview ideas must be turned in by that
day every week. If you don't turn something in, you're out. It
doesn't have to be elaborate but you have to give me something.
Two days later, I will post the booking sheet at my web site and
we'll play the following day.
Within the following 2 days I will post the show's results on my
site.
4) I roll ALL the dice. It's the only way to be fair.
5) Show up. I expect people to treat these game sessions the
same way they treat their face to face games. If you can't make it
to the game, I need to know in advance (preferably before I finish
the Booking Sheet. If it becomes a habit, you're out. If you don't
show, neither do your wrestlers and the appropriate in game
repercussions will be executed (loss of Clout, etc.).
6) You are free to leave the group at any time, but you must
officially leave the game - no jumping in and out whenever it's
convenient for you. It would be nice if you suggested a way to
write your characters out of the storylines. In fact, your
cooperation in this regard is likely to effect whether or not you are
allowed back in the game.
One of the great parts of Kayfabe is that it easily facilitates
bringing in new players, so leaving the game on good terms isn't
a bad thing.
7) I know this is a silly rule, but you MUST own a copy of Kayfabe
and have read the rules. You don't have to know the mechanics
back and forth, but I would like for everyone to generally know
what they're doing.
----------------
That's pretty much it. I'd like this to go smooth and by the
numbers. Talk to you all soon!

I've set up a web page at my site for the online game. It ain't pretty, but it will get the job done. We still need two more players. I'll wait till Friday and then we'll get started on designing the promotion and hashing out all the details.
