View Posts Since Your Last Visit

Suggestion:

I use the "View Posts Since Your Last Visit" function of the Forge every single time I visit it. I think it's the greatest thing on earth, but I also think that there's a better way to organize the post listings. Don't worry, it's nothing huge.

Why not reverse the order the posts appear in? As it stands now, the most recent posts appear first. But this makes no sense. I want to read in chronological order. So that means I have to scroll down and click on the last page of topic headings, and then read from the bottom of the page up. And when I want a new page of headings, I have to scroll back down to the bottom of the page again.

It seems like a much more intuitive listing to have that reversed. Then I could click on View Posts... and just start browsing. When I got to the bottom of the page, I click next, etc.

Even if there are crazy people out there who like how the order is now, would there be a way to add a sort functionality to the date coloum?

Just a suggestion. Thanks.

Tim,

Great idea. Anyone have any problems with this? If not, I'll put it on my list of things to do.

Personally, I don't think that I'd like a forum that was stacked backwards. I come here once a day and try to catch up from the previous day; that means finding where I left off and going on from there. If the most recent one were on top, I'd have to work my way down to the last one I read, and then read them going up from one to the next--a lot more difficult.

Is this function of View Posts Since your Last Visit different from the markers on the forum listing? I haven't seen it, perhaps.

I'm not talking about stacking the forums any different than they are now - only the View Post... listing that you can get to from the main forum page. As it is now, the difficulty you describe is exactly what occurs in that one particular listing.

Ok, maybe this isn't anything new, but I've noticed that the View Post... option isn't sorting by the most recent post at all now. When I look at the last post date column it's all over the map.
