I am very interested in the underpinnings of the Other mechanic and the "subtraction" mechanic, and I think they could be an interesting door into a wide variety of applications.

Well, the system is broken.

The new system will be, roll <= your attribute. If it fails but it's still <= your costume attribute, you can spend the requisite number of points and succeed.

Other is just...I dunno, a way to reward people with crap for "real life" attributes.

The system breaks with attributes >= your "real life" attributes. And combat sucks.

But I dunno, there's something cool going on with this idea. Even if it is sick and wrong.
