One question that came up in our first play with the rules... if a blow lands, is a 0-level wound the minimum result, or can it have no effect at all...

I.e. if a dam 4 blow lands on someone with TO + armour of 5, do they take a level 0 wound or nothing at all. It looks like it should be a 0-level wound, but I couldn't find a specific discussion of this case.

Yes, that's still a level 0 wound (so the attacker keeps initiative, which is presumably why you're asking)

Brian.

Thanks.

Actually, initiative wasn't the question, but the player who kept getting hit for 0-point wounds by a dagger began to feel it was a little unfair. Basically because he kept losing CP for the shock and pain, preventing him from grabbing the initiative and cutting the dagger wielder in half with his doppelhander.

That said, he managed to do it in the end :)

I'm pretty sure that level 0 wounds don't cause pain or blood loss. They're just cuts and scratches that have no "real" effect on the character other than keeping him on his heels while his opponent presses the attack.

Where were you getting the shock and pain numbers if there is not wound entry?

(After a little looking through the book)
