Hiya gang. Just tried to download the combat simulator programs offered on theriddleofsteel.net and both the links are broken. Is there another site I can find these nifty-sounding utilities?
Also... are there any plans to do another run of the limited edition leatherbound core rulebooks?

Send me a personal email to bleybourne@hotmail.com from an address that can receive a ~650kb file and I'll send you the combat sim. That goes for anyone who wants it, actually.
The webpage is under development at the moment, and we're all waiting for the "big unveiling" of the new page :-)
Brian.

Y'know, if Jake does decide another leatherbound run is in order, I'd definitely like to pick one up. Hopefully it's not going to be before Christmas though, 'cause all of my spare cash until January is going toward Christmas gifts, and buying armor. I had the opportunity to pick up one of the original set, but I really couldn't afford to blow the cash then.
As for the program... Brian, I might suggest getting some webspace, if you don't already have some, and uploading the program to it. All you'd need to do then is create a mostly blank page with a link to the file so that people could click and "Save Target As" the link.. This would save you the trouble of having to send it to everyone until the TRoS site issues can be worked out.

Oh, by the way, I've been working on another windows TROS utility as well, I hope to have it to Jake in the next few days. I don't know how many people will be interested in it, but I find it quite useful (as long as you have access to a laptop while you're GMing), so some folk might like it.

As I said in another thread, the Simulators and the die roller are now available at http://www.theriddleofsteel.net/support
We'll be putting some new stuff up later this week, too.

I have to say the combat sim is indeed cool, my only beef was the result of one fight where I cut off both of a gol captains legs and all three of his arms before he died of blood loss and the combat ended..... I decided not to ask where the third arm came from and wondered if this was just homage to the black night vs. arthur.

I believe Brian once mentioned something similar to this(I believe a foe had been disemboweled twice) as a problem of being more trouble to code in than it was worth.. Did the Gol continue attacking after it had lost two arms, though? If it did, then it might be worthwhile to add a counter feature that counts how many limbs are missing, and end the fight if it ever equals the amount needed to continue fighting.

That was one of he reasons I couldn't be bothered. By the time a creature loses 2 limbs, there's basically no way it can still be fighting (Pain > CP).
Maybe one day I'll try doing something like that, but it's a lot of work for very very little reward (i.e. that situation very seldom comes up) so don't hold your breath :-)

actually the captain had 1 combat die left after missing one arm and one leg.... that was goofy
but since I dropped out of cs because programming and debugging sucks I cant fault your reasons for not fixing it
