Ron Edwards wrote: You, Matt, are a freakin' great demo-er and closer. If we farm people to you, Kayfabe gets played and gets moved. Hence, we work toward your strengths and get you set up to do these things, but set people like (say) Jared, who's an engaging sort who makes people comfortable and forthcoming in his presence, more at the crowd-interface area.
Todd Luikart and Blair are freaky good salesmen. I AM NOT. I'd be more than happy to do any of the following tasks:
1) Acting as a shill in someone's game.
2) Standing behind everyone lookin' all fierce like Public Enemy's S1W, boyee.
3) Go'fer. I fetch, I retrieve, I scratch fleas, I roll over, I play dead.
4) Running InSpectres, I guess (remember, me hate running games).
Basically, anything that involves me not touching money or asking people for money. Also: not taking my top off. Unless it's for a good cause.
Also: i black dragon will kill for money or goods.
But seriously, don't expect me to sell your game. I won't.
This is them: "Dude. Kayfabe?"
This is me: "Dude. It's cool. Buy it or I'll get Knipe, crush you throat"
That's the famous persona coming through. BUT IT WORKS ON CHICKS, TRRRRUST ME. I'll be knee-deep in Xena corsets before the Con is through*.
I can also bump into people while someone else grabs their wallets. In short, I'm Mad Murdoch, not Hannibal. Maybe Face-man, a little. Not much B.A. though...that involves way too much gold jewelry...and you'd never get me on the plane, foo'.
"Engaging sort who makes people comfortable"? Uh-huh.

*Not really.

Ah yes. I'm already bulking up for this year.
Seriously, although I've been a bit out-of-touch with The Forge these past couple months, count on me being there. I dig my postion as one of the Sorcerer heavies ("heavy" in the sense that I demo it a lot, not that I give folks the beat down until they buy it), and would be glad to represent in other ways.

Seems that I'll need to do the same thing as last year: keeping an eye on Jared so that noone gets hurt.

Why did I just get the image of you and Ron Popeil in a game store together? ;)
2) Standing behind everyone lookin' all fierce like Public Enemy's S1W, boyee.
Yo, just keep it real! Only front on da boyeez that be flakin' and perpatratin', yo? Peace out.
*ahem* My new housemate is a huge NWA fan. Nothing like a dose of Dre in the morning to get the blood, uhm, flowing.

of all the things I dread, its the saturday night "Gamer Wet T-Shirt Contest"

Ah, grasshopper, you must learn self-control. el Jefe will show you the way..
Hmm.. I may have to bring my el Jefe costume.
I can also bump into people while someone else grabs their wallets.
*rubs temples* great, NOW I've got an image of you, Ron Popeil, and Oliver all talking in fake Cokney "making handkerchiefs"
