Delay in CAH release
We have had some vexing problems at the printers with the CAH book. We're working those out now, but this does mean a slight delay in the release date. Rest assured, it won't be a huge delay. CAH should be released before the end of this month (i.e., March). We apologize for the inconvenience. I'll keep you updated on a more specific release date as we find out more.

Out of curiosity, I just bought the PDF like 15 minutes ago. Will you discontinue sales of the PDF when the print version comes out (I believe this happened with Ron's Sorcerer)?
How much will the print version be, and does it include things not in the PDF version?
Thanks.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for purchasing CAH.
The pdf version will indeed be discontinued the day the hardcopy version is released. However, as a pdf customer, you're up for a few "nifties". PDF customers who purchase the book from Z-Man Games will receive a $10 discount from said product. Furthermore, you'll receive two free issues of our upcoming e-zine, After These Messages.
As for your questions about the book, it will cost $24.95 (without the pdf discount mentioned above) and it will clock in at 195 pages. It contains a lot of additional material, though nothing major (in terms of rules) has been changed from the pdf version. Just a few clean-ups and such. The book is actually two books in one as well, as it includes Iconia, the Warriors of the Cosmos sourcebook.
With the book, our goal was to keep the pdf version from being obsolete or outdated, while still providing a gob of new stuff for those who want more. I think we've succeeded in that goal. Hopefully, you will too. :)

What about people who bought the PDF from you when you were Spectrum Studios and first released it?

That's what we mean. If you bought the Spectrum PDF, you'll get a $10 break from the Z-Man book if you buy it directly from Z-Man's site. Cindi will be providing Zev with a list of all of our PDF customers. :-)

Gotcha. Cool deal. I will have to pre-order it then.

I'm sure one of us will let everyone know when zmangames.com is ready to accept CAH orders. :-)

Just a quick clarification.
To avoid any confusion, I'd like to state that Spectrum Game Studios still exists. We've just partnered with Z-Man Games for Cartoon Action Hour (and most likely other projects, such as our upcoming "mobster-punk" game, Midway City).
Think of Spectrum as the design studio and Z-Man as the publisher and you're more or less on the right track. :)

Funny, last night the phrase "gumshoe-punk" popped into my head. Talk about weird synchronicity...

Yes, sorry about the confusion - the PDF was when Spectrum was its own publisher. Now, with our partnership with Z-Man Games, we've moved to a design studio.

AFAIK, the discount only applies to people who purchase it from Z-Man Games directly.
