Had a question about the "Mark all topics as read" feature. Does this feature mark all topics that have been posted to up to the second you hit the feature as read...or does it mark only those up to the second the window was initially opened as read.
Meaning.
1) There are 5 new posts in a forum.
2) I open the forum window and it sits there for 10 minutes.
3) I hit the "mark all forums as read" feature.
4) between the time I opened the window and hit the mark, 3 more posts were added to the forum...which I didn't see because I hadn't refreshed the window.
So...are the initial 5 posts marked as read and the later three still show up as new...or all 8 posts marked as read, meaning I just missed 3 posts that I never saw...

You just missed three posts you never saw.
Here's a tip: I never use the 'view all new posts' link. Instead, I go to the search page and enter '*' for the name of the poster I want to search for. Voila! Threads in chronological order, whether they're marked as read or not.

Hey, that's a slick trick. I'll have to start using it. Any thoughts on making that one of the options that appears on the top-right part of the page (with the 'View posts since last visit' link)?

Ethan,
Not a bad idea at all.
