I'm starting this topic for anyone who wants to plan a joint effort of any kind at GenCon SoCal this December. Basically this is for any publishers, publisher's lackeys, or fans who are intrested in sharing a room, sharing a table, planning a party, organizing events, or otherwise helping out at GenCon SoCal this year.

I'm kind of torn on how I'm going to get there and what I'm going to do. I also don't know much about the event, like how many fans we can expect. But this will probably be my GenCon this year unless something dramatically favorable hap[pens that makes Indi GenCon feasible. (And given my academic schedule that doesn't look too likely).

For the record, I'd be coming down from Portland, Oregon. I don;t know if there are going to be any cheap flights inDecember 9which is a peak travel time to places like Disneyland), so I may end up taking the train down or something like that.

I'm seriously considering attending GenCon SoCal. For the most part the decision rests on how many people I can share a room with, a.k.a. How Cheap I Can Sleep. I would be driving down since I'm only about 5 hours from Anaheim.

I would be attending in 'fan mode' but am more than willing to give assistance wherever it might be needed. Of course, this all rests on one condition: That if I hear Michael being defeatist or self-deprecating I get to duct tape him to a fat guy in a Sailor Moon outfit. ;)

I think I said this in some other GenCon SoCal thread . . . I plan to be there, and will be happy to help out with any Forge-associated booth and/or project that happens.

Duct tape? Fat guy? SAILOR MOON OUTFIT?

What did I ever do to you? 8^(

Seriously, I'd be going as a fan myself. It's a pity nobody on the Forge is either closer to or north of me and willing to drive the distance (although my last experience riding with strangers is enough to give me pause....) I'll help out at a Forge booth if there is one, but I don't know if I'll have the right kind of product to sell directly at the convention. Now if RPGNow has a booth there, I'll have plenty of product that they'll be selling; HeartQuest Second Edition, HeartQuest Diceless, The Ghost Tamer Miyaki Sourcebook and probably a whole lot more.

How many exhibitors will be coming to GenCon SoCal? Does anyone know?

I might go but I'd probably take a plane. I'll let you guys know as soon as I do and I would like to be part of a booth if I do go.

Is RPGNow really considering getting a booth? That would be really cool to see!

Only they would know that.
