No it has not yet come out.

But yes it will. It's rather complete and has been thorugh some playtesting already. It needs art (one artist who promised to deliver some stuff never came up with anything) yet, and a lot of editing. I think it's too late for a GenCon release at this point, but it might not be too long after that.

For those who didn't know (I didn't) it's going to be an actual dead-tree supplement, not a pdf.

Let it not be thought that Catalyst is the only one anxiously awaiting Sorcerer & Space from the illustrious Mike Holmes. I, for one, was very relieved to hear that the project was in development and not shelved--I did a search a few weeks back and hadn't found any posts about it since shortly after GenCon '02. Glad to see it's on back burner, rather than cupboard, status.

To be truthful, I had made a slight push to see if I could get it done by this GenCon, and sent Ron a copy to edit not too long ago. Looking at his comments, however, I realized that there was a long way to go before it was at the level of quality that I wanted to publish. I'm hoping not to be too perfectionist about it, though, and I will make an end of it at some point.

Anyhow, it's being actively worked on if only...very......slowly.....

I know there are quite a few of you who'd like to see it, and that does help with the motivation to finish it.

Thanks,
Mike

As should be obvious, I definitely want to get my grubby little hands on a copy, especially if it's a printed book (though this sounds like something I'd buy as a pdf).

Something just occurred to me while poking through the Sorcerer-rpg website.

Ron says, rather specifically, that supplements (well, he calls them mini-supplements, but the definition seems to include any form of supplement imagineable) "may only be sold from the Sorcerer website in PDF format." Does that mean that supplements that are in dead-tree form simply won't be sold from the Sorcerer website, or does that mean that supplements in dead-tree form won't be allowed to exist at all?

Or, to phrase it more specifically for this topic, are you allowed to print Sorcerer in Space in a dead-tree format?

AFAIK, if you have a dead-tree version of a Sorcerer supplement, you can sell it online via the Sorcerer website. Not sure about retail sales.

Heh, I didn't even catch this question, so I suppose the answer should be yes. :-)

On the subject of PDF, I assumed that this just means that I can't host the sales process on the Sorcerer site (via Clinton's bookshelf, IIRC) if it's in hardcopy format. That I might be able to sell it there, but Id have to have my own fulfillment. OTOH, maybe I've assumed too much? So don't hold me to that hardcopy version.

I've also been thinking about doing just PDF release, or possibly both (an idea I really like, personally). We'll see how it goes.

Thanks again,
Mike

Hi there,

The rule is that the mini-supplement must be sold as a PDF from the Sorcerer website.

How else it gets sold is the real question. I used to be a hard-ass and say that it couldn't be sold any other way, except for special hard copy editions at conventions (as I do with Elfs and Trollbabe). But now I'm OK with it if people put their own Buy buttons at their sites as well (e.g. Jared's Schism), and if someone wants to offer hard copy (handling fulfilment themselves), that's OK too, pending a discussion with me.

But the rule is still the rule.

Best,
Ron

The Buy button on my site does link to Ron's products page, btw.
